Shipley Market Revamp Update

SHIPLEY MARKET REVAMP

The £4m transformation of Shipley Market is now set to begin in February and finish by November, following delays caused by rising material costs. The project, led by Shipley Town Council and delivered by Aureos (formerly Keltbray), will include new surfacing, lighting, drainage, seating, planting, and electric vehicle charging points.

Market days and Bradford 2025 City of Culture events will continue during the works, thanks to a phased approach. The existing fixed stalls will be replaced with a new central canopy and pop-up market stalls, alongside new green spaces and benches.

An associated project to re-open Shipley’s public toilets has been delayed, with contractor procurement now expected to conclude by mid-February.
